What is the current (Feb 2010) legality of online gambling in the USA? I know there were many laws passed in the last few years but when searching for this info, everything gets jumbled up and vague. I know some people still do it, using some method of depositing funds into offshore accounts, but I have no idea how. In other words, say an internet forum owner who lives in Chesapeake, VA decides to take advertising money, from online gambling sites deemed illegal by the US Justice Dept.
Wouldn’t his profiting from those illegal gambling sites be breaking some federal laws?
It is illegal now for an offshore gambling site to do business with US residents. So, wouldn’t it also be illegal for a US resident to be profiting from the promotion of those illegal sites, to US citizens who post on his forum?
